3 SECRETS YOU MUST KNOW IF YOU WANT TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS & MAKE IT SUCCESSFUL IN KENYA OR AFRICA

*3 SECRETS YOU MUST KNOW IF YOU WANT TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS & MAKE IT SUCCESSFUL IN KENYA OR AFRICA*

Look around and you will notice that these days everyone wants to have their own business.

But what is stopping people?

Why are there not many successful entrepreneurs in Africa?

There are 3 (hidden) reasons for this.

First reason is because we grew up in a society where nobody expects (or encourages) you to build a business.

When I went fully into the business world after my university education, everyone in my family thought I was crazy.

You know, everyone wants their children to work for "big companies"

That's number one reason why we don't have many successful entrepreneurs in Africa

Growing up, we don't dream (or desire) to build companies.

The second reason is because everyone talks about what is bad with us. We focus extensively on the problems in our countries and continent.

No one sits back to look for the opportunities

We can't build companies until we forget our problems and focus on opportunities.

Interestingly, the natural human reaction to problems and challenges is to complain, blame, curse and criticize. That’s what many people do.

While these actions enforce your rights of free expression, they hardly provide any solutions to problems.

But entrepreneurs see problems differently. That’s why we are unique people. We see business opportunities in every problem. We think of solutions instead of whine about our difficulties.

And because most people are frustrated by problems and challenges, they would gladly pay anyone with a solution to get it solved.

One person’s problem is often another person’s opportunity.

You can continue complaining about the problems of your country or sit back to solve one or two of those problems to make money.

Problems are money

Problems are a very good thing.

If you are complaining about problems, it’s because you are poor-minded

Rich-minded people take time to SEARCH for problems they could solve. Poor people take their time to search for problems they can complain about.

The third reason why most people cannot be entrepreneur is because, well, no formal (or informal) educational system was designed to train children to be entrepreneurs.

After I have spent more than 15 years in the business world (part-time and full time) I can't stop wondering why Africans waste a lot of time complaining about everything.

I believe you and I can build great companies and employ other people.

I have NOT arrived and I don't know everything about business but I have one or two things to show you (from my experience as an entrepreneur)

That's one of the reasons why Timothy and I started this WhatsApp group (Profitable Business Ideas)

I received a call from a someone sometimes back. While on phone with him, he lamented, “I don`t know anything about Poultry Farming and I want to go into poultry farming business”

You can guess what I told him…. everybody started as a novice.

Becoming a business genius or a business giant or a business mogul or whatever doesn`t just happen. Nobody was born a business genius, everyone who is today a business genius grew into it.

15 years ago, though I had seen and participated in my mother and brother`s business, I knew near nothing about business.

10 years ago, I knew just a little, very little about business. 5 years ago however, I had acquired much knowledge and practical experience about business.

Today, I know so much, very much about business.

I wouldn`t want to see myself as a business genius yet (because just at a time when you think you know, you come across another person or book that teaches you what you never taught existed), but I have gotten to a point where I can say… I know about business more than most Africans.

What is the essence of my story here?

Don`t be intimidated by someone else`s business attainments or knowledge. They all started from zero.

There was a time Dangote (the richest African) didn`t know anything about business. There was a time Bill Gates didn`t know anything about marketing.

Not knowing anything about business or not having a business of your own today is not really the problem. The only problem lies in your weak will.

If you are strong willed and are willing to learn and to act, you will start learning and acting.

Within a very short period of time, you will acquire much knowledge about the business world and the specific business you are planning to go into.

The more you learn, the more courage you will have, the more actions you will take, the more success you will have (hey, you will fail too).

Why is it so hard for most Africans to learn business and to become a business genius (or a successful business owner)?

Three reasons.

First, because there is low entrepreneurial awareness among African youths.

Most Africans have been brainwashed to love job, “good job” they call it.

Second, because most Africans who want to start business really don`t think of (or think little of) business education.

For most Africans who want to go into business, it`s all about getting capital to buy some product and start selling.

They are ignorant.

Show me a business man who doesn’t read business books and articles and I will show you a poor business owner.

It`s easier to be a lawyer without great learning than to be a successful business owner without much learning.

Third, because most of us grew up in a faulty educational system (school) where we were forced to learn.

Growing up, we have been programmed to think that education has to be given (and by force). This makes it extremely hard for most of us to read books, articles or magazines that teach business skills and many other good stuff.

Education is NOT to be given. It`s to be acquired. Nothing should be painful in the process of acquiring education, it should be pleasant.

To learn so much about business (so as to become a business genius), you have to delete the early programming of school in your brain.

Nobody can and nobody is willing to force you to acquire business knowledge. You have to develop the interest and passion. You have to associate pleasure with reading good business books, articles and magazines.

Read that business magazine. Read those business articles. Download or buy that business book.

I love you and wish you the best as you are working toward becoming a successful business person.

Also, don`t forget to join our training on Greenhouse Farming.

We have created a WhatsApp group called *GREENHOUSE FARMING TRAINING*

In this group we are going to train and teach you for 20 days how you can start, grow and profit in Greenhouse Farming Business.

Greenhouse farming has been practiced in Kenya for quite some time now but it’s not until recently that most Kenyans have started realizing the great benefits of practicing greenhouse farming which requires a small space but produces high yields.

And it’s cool too. University graduates, fresh out of campus are soiling their hands in this business and they are not afraid of bragging about it.
